Remember 9/11
It doesn't seem possible that it has been eight years since that
fateful day. I was home sick and I remember Ken calling
asking if I had the news on. I turned on the news to see
maddnes and mayhem going on. Needless to say as most
were that day and the days to follow I was glued to the
television. Where were you on the fateful day???
Please take a moment to remember our service people
and their families. Whatever we face daily is NOTHING
compared to what these people face daily. Our service
people are working very hard to keep us and our
country safe.
Our city police departments work hard daily to to keep
our cities and streets safe from harm. Thank an officer
next time you see one. They'll appreciate it.
Our Fire Departments help to keep our homes, schools,
and businesses safe. Our ambulance companies are there
to help when there is an accident or medical emergency.
Pass on your thanks to them also. These people and the
ones profiled above work long hours, are away from their
families a lot and talk about dealing with stress--we don't
know the half of it!
Say a prayer for all these people and their families before
you head off to sleep. I'm sure they'd apperciate it
GREATLY!!!

I was at the public library doing story time for a very large group of children and their mothers who did not want to be home alone.
ReplyDeleteAnyone who volunteers to be in harms way to help others is a hero. :-)
I was in my Special Ed. classroom with several students when a colleague came in and announced what was taking place.
ReplyDeleteIt was a tragic day that will remain with us always. I pray for the loved ones who lost friends and families that horrific day in history.
You and Mr. Ken have a peaceful weekend!!!
Amen Melinda, Amen.
ReplyDeleteI, too, was in a special ed classroom (kids were not there) and thought it was a mistake. I called my parents and was on the phone with them when the second plane hit.
ReplyDeleteThank you for thinking of me! I think I need a pair of those earrings! I will have to look for a pair online!
ReplyDeleteThank you for visiting our blog!

I was at home watching the morning news and saw it from the first plane and watched television all day long; crying and trying to figure out how to tell my boys who were 7 and 8 what happened without scaring them. My husband was there with me; he was off work that day, and I was so glad he was home.
