Day Five of the Twelve Days...

On the fifth day of Christmas we got MORE SNOW! I think the weather is taking our message at our front door seriously. I made this message board years ago and I try to keep a message on it seasonally. SOMETIMES other people will leave something on it.
Doesn't it look like Mr. Ken is having a ball
cleaning off his car in order to leave this
morning?
The tree across the street is beautiful with the
newly fallen snow. Most of the new stuff melted
today BUT we are suppose to have an Artic
front come through and drop our temps.
BIG time. Hope everyone is staying warm
and cozy!

Day Four of the Twelve Days...

On the fourth day of Christmas--I filled out our new calendars. Not all of these get filled out but three of them do. Everything is is gathered and I'm ready to GO!
I use cute sticky notes to use as reminders for
activities that happen each year but don't
have a specific date yet for those yet.
I also like to out little drawings on specific days.
ie: A snowman for the first day of winter. A
hat for New Year' Eve etc.
Here they are --all filled out and ready to be
hung up in their places. The other calendars
that I didn't fill out will go in other spaces
that are less traveled. I forgot to fill out
my new planner---there's always tomorrow.

Day Three of The Twelve Days....

On the third day of Christmas I got our Christmas cards done! They are "after Christmas" cards this year. Time didn't permit for me to get them out before Christmas. This is my organized mess. My card list is in the notebook at the top right, cards we recieved are right by the notebook, cards to be sent are ready the address book and notepad are waiting for duty.
The organized mess turned into this! Envelopes
addressed and return labels up in the left corner.
Now all I need is stamps.
For the last several years I have taken our cards
and turned them into "gift tags"-- these will be
used on next year's gifts. We use the card fronts
and the inside phrase or picture. Very little
gets thrown away. I think these are more
personal that the generic ones you can buy.
We have those too and they get used .
Of course, photos are saved and the photo cards
are cut so we can save those photos for framing.
Some card fronts are also saved for framing. This
year one of the photos came with a frame that I
saved to be used later.

Twelve Days of Christmas--My Way

On the first day of Christmas--December 26th. Friends came over to our house.
To playyyyyyyy games. We played FARKLE,
SCRABBLE SLAM and UNO. Our last game of
UNO took F O R E V E R !!!!!!!!! That's why
we look so tired in the pictures. We did have
a lot of FUN though!!!!
**********************************
On the second day of Christmas--December 27th.
I acquired the delightful additions...f o r m y
village. One lighted house, kids on a train,
a couple in a sleigh and a Mother and
daughter on a park bench. All of the above
were on the "after Christmas sale" at our
Walgreen's. WOOOOOHOOOO!
If you notice from my last picture of my little
village. I have added a new building to each end
of the "street." On the left end is the FLORIST
and on the right end is the STATION. There are also some new residents. The couple
standing next to the far left tree, the carolers
by the church, the boy up front with the dog
sled. There are a few other additions too.
We hope you are having a great time with
your families!!!

Christmas Snow !!!!

Christmas Snow! Christmas Snow! The sun trying to peek out after "the bizzzard." This morning we woke to this! Now something you need to know about this is that IF we have snow on Christmas it's a dusting. Soooo this IS a BIG thing here!
Be careful of the drifts as you come in.
Little wagon covered in a snow drift.
Someone has ventured out--ruts in the street.
The wind was really blowing last night. Snow
EVERYWHERE!
Snow on the back deck!
The deck angel has been covered in snow-but
the message is still visible.
Have a seat, I'll bring you some hot chocolate.
Even the firns got a little snow action.
The neighbor's tree looks pretty with all the
snow on it.
We hope everyone is enjoying the holiday
with family and /or friends. I just had to
show you our Christmas snow.
Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas to YOU!

As the card above says: "Deer Friend, Warmest Wishes" and that is what I am hoping for you this holiday season! I hope that everyone can slow down, spend time with family and just have FUN!
The forcast is calling for a White Christmas and we
haven't had major snow here on Christmas since
1962. I can't wait! Snow for Christmas.
Oh what fun!!!!!
Take some time to have some "sparkley fun." Mr.
Ken and I plan to. I'll be taking a Christmas break
for a couple of days. But I'll be back to see how
everyone's Christmas was.
We wish you a Merry Christmas!
I'd like to take this time to "Thank all of you" for
making blogging sooooooo much fun. I'm looking
forward to getting to know my new friends better
and also making more new friends. Take Care!!!
Happy Holidays!!!!

New Friends and an Ornament Exchange

I was blog hopping one afternoon when I saw the picture above on a blog. I believe it was at "Pampering Beki." So I decided to see what it was about. (being new to the blog world and all) Well, as the little picture says it was for an ornament exchange--I read on and found that all you had to do was sign up and then Beki would send you an exchange partner. My partner was Nanette. Nanette's blog--"thesemons" is a family blog with some wonderful posts.
Here is the little beauty she sent me! It is a beautiful
green stained glass tree. Currently it hangs in my kitchen
window. I like to see the light come through it in the
mornings. It is so dainty. I love it! Thanks Nanette!!!
