Hello!
Hope you are having a wonderful
Wednesday!
Popping in to let you know Mr. Ken
will be heading out on an adventure
soon. I won't be blogging for a bit but
will post as soon as I can about our
adventure.
In other news I'd like to WELCOME
my new follower Pam. It's nice to
have you here at Dreaming!
I had two requests for the Pickle recipe:
Refrigerator Pickles
3 nice size cucumbers, peeled and sliced
1 C sugar or Splenda
1/2 C vinegar
1 C water
Mix together the sugar with the liquid
ingredients (well)
Add cucumbers, mix together
Seal and put in the fridge- 2 hrs
That's it! Enjoy!
I have made these for several years and
have changed things up . This year I
added approx. 1/4-1/2 tsp of dried dill to
them. Of course you could use fresh.
I have added (other times)
Red pepper flakes
Cracked pepper
Onions
It is a very versatile recipe.
See you when we return !

Hello everyone,!
I am happy and proud to say
that TOMORROW is my 9th
Blogversary! Still plugging away.
I am sooooooo thankful for those
of you who still come by for a visit!
Mr. Ken and I went to a local Farmer's
Market and they had these sculptures in
the green space, well you know us we
couldn't resist goofing around before
purchasing our goodies.
We have had some beautiful sunsets
lately. I captured this one coming out
of a store.
My friend Nancy and I went to a Scrap-
book Expo, don't do much with my stuff
but I do use the paper and stickers at
school. The paper makes much nicer
letters for bulletin boards than plain
construction paper.
We put our names in for some drawings
AND we both one. Pics above and below
are the goodies I won very excited!
Took Mr. Ken on a country adventure last
Friday. Didn't tell him where we were going
OR most importantly what we were going to
see. Thankfully GPS got us there. I don't
always trust it though.
A friend had posted on Facebook some
pics she had taken of her daughter here
and loving Sunflowers as I do I had to go
see them. So when Mr. Ken got home off
we went. Lot's of fun!
This morning I made these for Mr. He
loves the Refrigerator Pickles on the right
and as an experiment I tried a version of
the same recipe with fresh carrots.
Very early on in blogging, I got the recipe
for the Refrigerator Pickles from a blog
friend and have made them every summer
since. It is sooooo easy to make and does
not require the "canning process." plus
they are never around very long. ;)
If you want the recipe let me know.
I will pop in briefly Wednesday with more
news, stay tuned.

Hello!
Hope everyone had a great holiday.
Ours was fun as you will see farther
down.
One more reference to the garage
sale.
Mr. Ken in his stylish blue ensemble.
*SOLD* A friend bought this one.
Next was the garden hat.
I decided to keep this after all.
There is on more hat, it dropped out :(
of my post, I'll post it next time, one
you won't want to miss!
My bargain bag! 2 bucks, yes I said 2
bucks! We have a store here in Kansas
City that is a Reuse, recycle and restore
kinda place. They receive donations from
various companies and the community.
This was from a donation from Charming
Charlies. A jewery, bag and scarf store.
Love it.
Parade Highlights:
Driving with the big boys.
Spontaneous trip to see fireworks:
Drove to the local hospital parking
lot, able to grab a parking spot though
is was a happen' place and enjoyed
from a far and traffic.
A peek and our 4th decorations. It
came so fast my output was a bit
minimal.
Oops excuse the ear muffs. :)
Hope your summer has been nice.
Still fighting the heat as I'm sure you
are. It is supposed to cool down this
weekend!

Well, well it is July! Where did June go?
Now that we are into summer and now
July, I have a list for you for summer
home maintenance.
1 Check your detectors. (smoke and
carbon monoxide)
2 Check your air conditioners and
ceiling fans.
3 Clean your grills.
4 Clean your porch and deck (s)
check for any repairs needed
to each.
5 Wash windows in and out. Yuck!
6 Check your hoses and faucets for
leaks.
7 Clean up lawns and flower pots.
For us we need to check our gutters
for junk.
It has been so hot here we haven't
done any mowing which we need to
do plus it has rained so much.
Wednesday's post will be on Thursday
due to the holiday.
Happy 4th to you and your family!
