For most of us a Christmas tree is an intricate
part of our holiday celebration(s).
Real or artificial? Both have their pluses.
Artificial ones are great for those who have
allergies and real ones are good for those
who don't. We have artificial ones because
I have the allergies in our family. I love the
new prelit trees, they are sooo easy to put
up and take down and no fighting with lights.
What kind do you have?
How many should we have? As I have read
different blogs this season, I have noticed
that most bloggers have more than one
tree. Some are theme oriented ie: Kitchen,
Sports, Sewing, Color Scheme, Family etc.
Some just have lights on them or decorations.
We have four this year. one in the living
room which is a tinsel tree, in the bathroom
it is decorated with gold "ornaments", in the
kitchen which has miniature ornaments on
it. And one tiny little tinsel tree--I'm not sure
where it will go yet.
How many do you have?
Do your kids have their own tree?
When are we putting up the tree? Most families
put their trees up over Thanksgiving weekend.
That's the time when everyone is together
and there is extra time to decorate the tree.
I guess there are people who wait to put up
their tree-especially if they have a real tree.
I don't know anyone who does this,
Ours is up later than usual and I still need
to decorate it.
When do you put up your tree?

We have both -- real and artificial. We got our first "faux" about 4 years ago, when we could not find a real tree large enough for our (then) really big living room -- it was a Christmas without big trees! So we bought one, and have used it every Christmas since. But now, in this house, we also get a fresh one... the fake in the parlor, the fresh in the sunroom, and then smaller trees around the house. One for my girls in the study, and then smaller, decorative ones in kitchen, powder room, dining room ... yeah, I'm addicted.
ReplyDeleteWe used to put the tree up the weekend before Christmas (fresh tree), but now it is usually 2 weekends before. I don't worry too much about when the trees go "up," but the iron rule here is that no tree is taken down before Epiphany, the last day of Christmas.
Which means sometimes we have lots of needles to vacuum up!
Merry Christmas! Cass
Ours is an artificial blaze of glory. I load the lights on. The year my son was born my BIL cut the most pathetic cedar tree for me and that was it. The thing was topped Charlie Brown's on the ugly meter. I have only one tree. When the kids were growing up they each had a small tree in their bedrooms to adorn as they wished. The first year we did this for my son there was a trail of icicles (back in the day) from our family tree to his. Heeeheehe!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful day Miss Melinda!!! :o)
we have artificial as well and just one tree...
ReplyDeleteI have been so wrapped up in SSS bidness i am slowly making my rounds to some of my favorite bloggers
Hope your having a lovely week
We only have a big one , but before the children had their own. For two years i don't have a real one( we are waiting until we have granchildren to have a real one again!!!) good day catherine
ReplyDeleteWe only have one artifical tree. It is on the smaller scale as our home is not large. I love it though as any Christmas tree is special. If I had a larger home, I would definitely have more than one tree! :D

ReplyDeleteStay Cozy, Carrie
As much as I LOVE the smell of a real tree, I just can't remember to water it, so we have artificial.
ReplyDeleteWe have a small one in the livingroom, bigger in the family room, and a tiny one in the kitchen. And I have to have my tree up well before the 1st of December. I love it so!
Have a Merry Christmas!
Hugs, Debi
We have aritifical this year. It is just easier sometimes. We did buy those big old fashioned bulbs to put on it though to look different. We also strung popcorn and made the applesauce and cinnamon ornaments for it. It is a very heartwarming tree. Merry Christmas! Twyla
ReplyDeleteI am sure you have seen mine, a little live tree with hand made decorations. I wanted a simple one this year.
