Our Famous N is:

Nancy Reagan(1921-2016)




Quick Facts:

Born: Ann Frances Robbins.

Film Actress in the 40's and 50's.

Married Ronald Reagan in 1952.
They met while working on the
Screen Actors Guild.
They had two children.

From 1967-1975, she was the First
Lady of California as Mr. Reagan
was the Governor.

Her husband became the 40th
President of the United States in
1981.

First lady of the United States from
1981-1989.

She was criticized early on for
changing the White House china
even though it was paid for by
donations.

Wanted a more formal White House
than those in years past.

Another criticism was her interest in
high-end fashions.

Influential in the President's political
and diplomatic decisions.

Quite protective of the President after
the assignation attempt.

She worked with the Foster Grandparent
Program.

Founded the "Just Say No" campaign.

Breast Cancer survivor.

After the White House, she started a
foundation keeping up the work of
educating people about the danger
of drugs.

She was the President's caregiver in
his later years and until his passing
in 2004.

Continued to be active in politics,
hosting several events.

Mrs. Reagan passed in 2016. Many
attended her funeral.

  1. I think being first lady would be one of the hardest jobs, being under scrutiny all the time. I came to appreciate Nancy Reagan more and more as the years went by.
