She was a tomboy as a young
child, liked to call herself
"Jimmy" and cut her hair short.
Later in life she became an
American actress.
She was a leading lady in 60 +
years.

The African Queen
True Grit
On Golden Pond
Known for her fierce personality
and eccentric ways.
Also for being outspoken and
assertive. She wore trousers
before it was "fashionable" for
women to do so.
She was a very private person
but enjoyed her fame.
Her final appearance on the
screen came at the age of 87,
she appeared in Love Affair
in 1994.
She is remembered as an
important cultural figure.

She was quite the rebel wearing trousers and defying societal norms, but I sure enjoyed her movies. Especially those with Spencer Tracey and Humphrey Bogart.

One of my favorite biographies is Kate Remembered by Scott Berg. She was quite the feisty lady!
