Something for a Party


Today's Sunday Savor
features two fun holiday
recipes. These would be
great for family upcoming
family gatherings.
So pull up a chair and relax.




Peppermint Oreo
Cookie Balls

6 candy canes, finely chopped
1 pkg. cream cheese, softened
36 Oreo Cookies, finely crushed
4 pkgs (4 oz. each) Semi-Sweet
Chocolate, broken into pieces,
melted.

Reserve 1 T chopped candy cane.
Mix remaining candy with cream
cheese and crushed cookies until
blended.
Shape into 48 (1-inch) balls.
Freeze 10 min. Dip balls into
melted chocolate; place on a wax
paper covered cookie sheet.
Sprinkle with the reserved candy.
Refrigerate 1 hour or until firm.

Prep. time: 20 minutes plus
refrigeration/Makes: 48 servings





Chocolate Peanut Butter
Saltine Toffee

16 saltine crackers
1/2 C  butter
1/2 C packed brown sugar
1 1/4 C milk chocolate chips
6 T creamy peanut butter

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Generously grease an 8x8 inch
pan with not stick pan spray.
Line the bottom of the pan
with the saltines; set aside.

In med pan, bring butter and
brown sugar to a boil over
medium heat. Once at a boil,
continue to cook without
stirring for about 3 minutes.
Pour mixture over crackers.
Bake for 5 minutes. Right
away sprinkle with the
chocolate chips. Let sit for
1 minute, then gently spread
melted chocolate. Place pan
back in the oven and bake
for about 3 minutes.

In a small bowl, microwave
the peanut butter for 15 to
30 seconds or until melted
down. Pour over the chocolate.
Place pan in the freezer for 1
hour to chill.

Prep. time: about 15 minutes/
Makes: 16 servings
