Where in Missouri is...?

Good Afternoon:
After many bumps in the
road over the weekend, I
think we are back up and
running.

Today we are in Missouri for
F. We will be visiting the city
of Florissant.

Florissant is a northern suburb
outside of St. Louis.

It began as a village that was
settled by the French but ruled
by the Spanish.

Once a seperate city and now
a suburb, the community was
centered on the parish of
St. Ferdinand.

You can tour the parish today.
There is a Church, a Convent,
and a Rectory. There is also a
Schoolhouse that can be used
for public or private events.

The first train line in the area
came in 1878.
The last train to the city was
in 1931.
Today the former train station
is home to de Lish Bakery
and Cafe. The reviews give
high praises to the bakery!

Until 2000, Florissant had a
nine time re-elected Mayor.
This is a 1st for any city.

In 2012, Florissant was
ranked 76 in the top 100
list of  Money Magazine's
Best Places to live.

There are two public school
distrcts, several Parochial
schools and many Universities
and Colleges in Florissant.

We are on the road again back
