~Keep on Dreaming~
My entire childhood was the 60s, I was born in '58. I don't remember much about styles and music, but Mary Poppins was the first movie I ever saw in the theatre. It was magical! For my birthday that year, my mom made a Mary Poppins hat cake, with the cherries on one side:) Barbies were a big thing, I had only one, but loved making my own clothes for her. Competing for the Presidential Fitness Award (started by JFK) every year in PE, living on Koolade and PB&J sandwiches for school lunch and running barefoot all summer. So many good memories. It was a tumultuous time for the country, I'm glad I was young and oblivious to much of it, just enjoying the simpler times.
ReplyDeleteMe too. Definitely oblivious to all the turmoil
Deletegoing on at that time. Busy being a kid.
You have some great memories! We put Koolade
in ice cube trays an froze it. Oh yum!
