For several Thursday's we will be
taking a look back at different
decades.
Today we start with the 50's.
As you look at the picture, you will
see images from "the diner and the
drive in."
Those were places to meet and and
to be seen. Classic cars, Rock n' Roll,
burgers and fries plus shakes and
malts. At the some drive-in's the car-
hop may have brought your food to
you on roller skates.

Rock n' Roll--
Elvis Presley's self titled album

as a passing trend but Elvis

Any 50's memories out in
blogland?
~Keep on Dreaming~
I was born in the late 50s, so while I didn't experience a lot of these things, I sure remember some of them later on. Had no idea Harold and the Purple Crayon was that old. It was one of my son's favorite books, and I never heard of it until he got a copy. Fun post! Can't wait for the 60s, I do remember that!
ReplyDeleteI was born in the next decade so don't have any experience with the 50's. But do enjoy looking back and who didn't love Elvis?
DeleteI didn't not realize Harold was that old either.
Glad you enjoyed the post!

Yea, lots of memories from the 50's and one great one was a trip to Cedar Point with my cousin. My grandmother loved Elvis. Sam Cooke, Brenda Lee, Paul Anka and on and on. I Love Lucy and I Remember Mama.
ReplyDeleteGotta love Lucy!
DeleteGood memories are always fun.
Thanks for sharing.
