Ladies and Gentlemen!!!!!
I did it, I completed the
Challenge!!!
If you remember, at the end
of May I mentioned that I had
planned to read 50 books before
school started.
Mr. Ken dared to ask if "I really
could do that!" Well, look at the
pile in front of me!
I will admit towards the end it
got a bit tough but I just kept
going cause I knew what was
coming if I completed this
challenge.
With school starting and sooo
many things to get caught up
on we did not make to Baskin
Robbins till tonight.
Step right up.
Here is the prize I chose!
A Hot Fudge Brownie Sundae
complete with two scoops-
one vanilla and one chocolate
plus whipped cream, nuts and
a cherry!
Oh yea!!! Yum! Yum!
Thanks to my great
husband for the delicious
treat!
Don't worry though, he
had two scoops of Very
Berry Strawberry.

Good ol' reliable Vinegar.
You either love or hate it.
Here are some other ways to
use it besides in your potato
salad.
1. Keep Flowers Alive
Add 2 Tbsp and 2 Tbsp
sugar to your water.
Change after a couple of
days--helps keep the
flowers nourished.
2. Give Your hair a Boost
Mix 1 C distilled water and
and 1/4 c vinegar, pour over
freshly washed hair. Let sit for
15-30 seconds, rinse with cool
water. This helps with product
buildup and adds shine to our
lovely locks.
3. Pull Up Candle Wax
To get rid of drips, saturate
a cloth with vinegar, then
place over the spot and
apply light pressure for a
few minutes. The vinegar
will break down the residue
without harming the surface.
4. Buff Leather Furniture
For a hydrating conditioner,
shake together equal parts
vinegar and boiled linseed
oil. Dab onto a soft cloth
and apply to leather in a
circular motion. After 10
minutes, rub away with a
clean dry cloth.
5. For Those Who Want
To Have Fun--An
Experiment*
On a baking tray, place a
tall clear glass.
Pour some baking soda in
the glass.
Pour some vinegar and in
and watch what happens.
You can add food coloring
if you are brave.

For several Thursday's we will be
taking a look back at different

Today we start with the 50's.
As you look at the picture, you will
see images from "the diner and the
drive in."
Those were places to meet and and
to be seen. Classic cars, Rock n' Roll,
burgers and fries plus shakes and
malts. At the some drive-in's the car-
hop may have brought your food to
you on roller skates.

Saddle shoes
Cat-eye glasses
