I have these--they sit on a "side shelf"
in our dining room. I like the black
"legs" because I feel they have a
simple elegance to them. But I was
ready for something a little
different for this area. SO....
"Why not paint THEM black ?" The
brass was a little much for me--I
guess I'm not is a "brass period"
anymore.
Off to Ace Hardware where I picked
up a can of black glossy paint and Mr.
Ken did the spraying for me. (He's in
a spray painting mood right now.) :)
We also put a clear gossy finish on
them.
really like the way this turned out
and I put a votive inside instead
of a taper--not much into those
anymore either.
Here are the beauties now. No
regrets in painting them. Hope-
fully they'll get more use now.
I'll put the others up for now
and they may come back in the
Fall.
Easy Peasy!!!!!
~Keep on Dreaming~
What a beautifully classic update with a little creativity and a Mr. Ken to help. They turned out marvelous sweetie!

Very nice! I have some brass put away too. Hmmm, maybe I should re-evaluate and reuse.

I love to see it when people think outside the square. Great idea, Melinda.

ReplyDeleteFirst of all, I LOVE your new blog background!!! Makes me even more ready for spring!! I love this project, I'm addicted to spray painting any and everything! Much better black than the brass. I love the shape, the original one you had in the space are cute. But I just love how the two you spray painted are a little more chunky/ substantial. A quick update and it changes the whole look! Love it!
