School is in Session

Hello!

It's late and I am getting my last post of the 

month up on the ol' blog.

Today was my first day back at school since 

March March 12th! All week we will be in 

trainings and preparing for students to arrive 

on Sept 8th. Our kids get to come to the building 

since they have an educational plan and they will 

do better than remote learning that the rest of 

the district is doing.

** I love this pic that I saw on Facebook. Dick and

Jane came before I was in school but I know about

them.

Hope your day went well. Time for me to go to bed,

alarm goes off early now.

More Progress

Hello and Happy Monday!

Well, we made some progress on the 

kitchen project. Paint was put on the 

walls. These are not the colors we had 

initially chose. I wanted red on top and 

an "oatmeal on the bottom. But who knew 

red was so hard to paint with????? So after 

much fussing and some words being said. 

The colors were changed. These were taken 

yesterday. The top was finished and the 

bottom coat was drying.

 

TA DA both colors are done! There will be 

a chair rail added and vertical slats added 

to these two walls. The hall(s) peeking 

behind the yellow towel will be the top 

color.  Click on the pic for a larger view.

Paint Colors--Top: Sunbaked

Bottom: Pale Blush

Trim, baseboards, window and

ceiling will be be Honey Vanilla-

a very light color.

Hoping the kitchen will be close to 

complete by the time I go back to school 

a week from today.

Changing gears on colors was tough. I 

really wanted red but that was not in 

the cards. It will be pulled in with decor.

Spending Time with Friends

 

Hello!
Over the last three days I have been able to see work 
friends, two I haven't seen since March 12!! On Monday 
I met a friend for a mid morning snack. Today I had the 
pleasure to host another driveway party for our friend 
Ann, she is the on the right front of the pic above. She 
had a BIG birthday back in June when things were still 
closed. Today with school looming three of us got 

together to celebrate our friend. The gal in the purple 

was my co-worker for 13 years. I am so glad that we have 

stayed in touch.
Between a little lunch, cake and lots of conversation we 
had a great time. Lunch was from a restaurant called 
Hawaiian Brothers so I went with ah Hawaiian decor 
theme. Next week I am looking to meet another friend 
for a picnic lunch. 
Monday the 31st is BACK TO SCHOOL. Sept 8th kids 
come back "remotely."  Not sure how this will all
play out.  Hope everyone is well.
Apparently this new interface cuts pics off too.

Weekend Fun

Hello!

Well phase two started yesterday. Gotta 

love  dust all over the place. 😀 We started

priming today.

Someone celebrated his birthday yesterday.

He chose to work yesterday, I didn't make 

him.

*Not sure why when I was typing this post 

it skipped lines. This new interface is so 

confusing. Still will  not let me type under

my last pic either. Any hints from anyone?

It Happened

Well, it happened, the wallpaper came 

down!! 

Four days and four bags of wallpaper 

later. I tried to get "before's" and 

"after's" but I think I missed some but 

you'll get the idea.

As most of you know this paper was here 

when we moved in. Not my choice by far. 

Now some will say "Melinda, why didn't

you do this years ago?" and I would say 

"I didn't think it would be as  easy as it 

was." Plus I had no idea how many 

layers there would be.

I got ahead of myself here. I did get 

everything off the wall though.

After on the wall above. Look closely on 

the bottom left and you will see my

helper.

Before and after.

It was EVERYWHERE! We have "T"  

hall off our kitchen. This hall was added 

on to the house when they added the 

Main  bedroom.

Saturday and the last of it is coming 

down! Not the easiest are to pull 

paper off. So glad to have my helper on 

this.

As you can tell by the last pic...this it 

THE LAST piece to come down. Yippee

Skippe!! Next up...sanding and 

painting!!!!
