We went to Granite City for a
delicious brunch...oh was it
yummy!! There was a specific
reason for brunching as you
will see. (Sorry lost the dang
picture!!)
Those crazy kids are taking
selfies again!
Someone had a birthday and
raked in some really good loot!
Here is the yummy birthday
bundtlet cake. It is made by a
company called "Nothing Bundt
Cake." These are soooo moist and
yummy.
The other excitement of the day
was that the Kansas City Royals
won the 2015 World's Series!!!!
Such fun and we are so proud of
our Boys in Blue!!!
This turns out to be the final score
in game 5 of the series. Of course it
had to go into extra innings!!
The exact time of the WIN and it is
still my birthday! So nice of them to
win the World Series on my big day!!!
News after the game!!
Boys arriving home the next day.
Parade day! Mr. Ken works at the
courthouse in downtown KC and
the parade route just happened to
go right by his office.
An exciting time for Kansas City!!!
We were able to get a really good
spot right his office building. Here
we are waiting for the parade to
begin. I did not have school and
as far as I know no one had school
that day, so I went to work with
Mr.
Waiting with a few of our "closest"
friends.
The parade begins with a giant replica
of THE trophy.
Here's Slugger! Our mascot.
Kansas City Mayor Sly James.
Dayton Moore, Royals General Manager.
The players....
This takes some explaining. Our third
baseman's name is Mike Moustakas but
the fans have shortened it to MOOSE.
Well this guy above has an authentic
moose rack (as you can see) that he
brings to all the games, so of course he
was part of the parade.
This is THE Mike Moustakas, he raised
his hand just as I snapped the pic.
Our All star MVP pitcher for the
World Series Sal Perez--Salvi for
short.
Our coach Ned Yost and THE
real World Series Trophy.
The team headed down to Union Station
after the parade for a rally--we did not
do to that wildness.
According to city officials between the
parade and the rally an approx 800,000
people were in attendance for the fun!!!
Now that my friends is A LOT of people.
Wow!!! A fun day for the city and for all
of us that live in the metro area. We all
love our boys and are so excited to have
the World Series Trophy here!!!
Told you it was a BIG post. :)
