A Little This, A Little That

Candy Corn Cupcakes

(From Family Fun
Magazine October
2013)

Line two muffin tins
with paper liners, make
a batch of vanilla cake
mix batter according to
the package, then evenly
divide it between two bowls.
Stir in 8 drops of yellow food
coloring into one of the bowls.
Stir 34 drops of yellow and
31 drops of red food coloring
into the other bowl.
Evenly distribute the yellow
batter into the tins, then top
with a layer of orange batter,
making sure to cover the
yellow batter.Bake the cup-
cakes according to the package
directions and let them cool.
Just before serving, whip up
a pint of heavy cream with a
1/4 C sugar and 1 tsp vanilla
extract until stiff.
Using a pastry bag with a star
tip or a sandwich bag with the
corner snipped off  pipe a dollop
of whipped cream onto each
cupcake, then add a piece of
candy corn to each one.

Makes 24 cupcakes.

Boo!
Remember my AWESOME
stand from an early summer
garage sale? Well, here it is
all dolled up for Halloween!
The jack-o-lantern tea light
is from Old World Pottery
(bad store :) ) and the mini
pumpkin table scatters are
from Target.

Have a great day!

  4. Cute, cute, cute! I love your Fall/Halloween touches. I finally got a few things out myself, but feel so behind this year. (I figured it was going to be this way...so glad I jumped back into teaching by only going part/time...my littles still need me...and apparently my house does too! LOL) Hope all is well. My kids are loving using all the pushpins and post-its you gifted to me! HUGS!

    1. Thanks!
There are times that I feel
soooo far behind. It just hangs
      out and pops outs sometimes.

Glad you are enjoying your goodies.

Part-time was probably a very good idea
