Today I have some trivia for you,
hopefully no repeats.

Halloween marks the end of the
Harvest season.

Over 1.1 billon pumpkins have been
sold.

Pumpkins come in various colors
other than orange. Today we can see
green. white, gray red and blueish gray .

Pompion  is a French word for pumpkin.

Irish started the carving tradition.

Google the story of Stingy-Jack.

In 2016, the world's largest pumpkin
weighed in at 2,624.6 lbs in Belgian.
A New Hampshire man recently won
a North American contest with a pumpkin
weighing in at 2,528 lbs. Making him the
United States record holder.

Candy sales have risen over 2 billion.
The avg person spends  approx. $81
dollars on candy with Snickers being
the most purchased candy bar.
This of course is second to Christmas.

The first Halloween card was made in
the 1920's.

The colors of Halloween-

life, harvest bounty.

  3. We just had the "Pumpkin Regatta" here - the giant pumpkins are weighed and carved out and used as boats to race in the lake - people go inside of them!

  4. Tee, hee! Cute joke! That is one big pumpkin! And I had no idea the Irish started the carving tradition, will Google! And that's a lot of candy money. Our neighborhood has aged, very few trick or treaters now, we used to have so many. Happy Halloween to you and Mr. Ken!
