A Little Snowflake Fun

Evening to all!

I saw this cute idea in the
December issue of Better
Homes and Gardens Mag
and decided I need to make
some.

They call them coasters and
the pic shows them as such
but I think they would also
work well with mugs too.

They suggest using a coffee
filter and folding it half, then
in half again keep folding so
that you end up with a long
triangle.

In the pic above I have my
coffee filter pattern, the base
pattern, the base and snow-
flake cut out. I pinned my
snowflake pattern to my felt
and then cut them out.

Here is the finished product.
These are a birthday present
for a friend. I'm going to make
more but make the snowflake
and base a bit smaller.
For me cutting out snowflakes
is fun, I just kept cutting snow-
flakes until I came up with a
design I liked.

*Word of warning--if you make
your own or use their's realize
that the more intricate the more
you have to cut, I made mine
as basic as possible. Even mine
involved a bit of cutting.

Enjoy!

  2. That's so funny, after Christmas we watched two of our younger grands one night, and we made snowflakes! Next year we are going to have a snowflake party and make them BEFORE Christmas!
