Christmas Fun-Day 4
Our selection today is:
Frosted Mason Jars
Items needed-
Ball mason jars
Krylon Glass Frosted
Paint
Rustoleum Painter's
Touch colored spray
paint
Strand of mini lights
Newspaper
Spray ring and lid-top
and sides of bothlid and
ring desired color. Let
dry.
Place the jar, top down on
the newspaper. Spray the
jar using the frosted glass
paint-several light passes
are better to make sure
there are no runs in the
paint. Let dry. Apply a
second coat if needed.
When dry, insert the light
strand into the jar, keeping
the plug end of the cord out
so that the lights can be
plugged in. Screw the lid
(over the cord), plug in the
lights.
*My preference would be
to NOT paint the lid or ring
and leave them in their
"natural state."
Have fun!

Chriatmas Fun-Day 2
Today's selection is:
Decorating with Chocolate
Make a sheet of candy using
dark, milk or white chocolate
chips.
Spray parchment paper with
nonstick coating.
Melt chocolate in microwave
or double boiler on the stove.
Melt slowly, stopping to stir as it heats.
Spread the chocolate onto the
parchment paper.
Allow to harden into a thin sheet.
After it hardens, drizzle with
melted white chocolate, if you
choose.
When the chocolate hardens, you
can break it into shards. The shards
can be used to decorate a cake top
or cupcakes.
They would be good just to eat too!

Shop til You Drop!
Hello-
Tomorrow is Small Business
Saturday. Tis the shopping
season and who wouldn't enjoy
a gift from a small business.
Take time to shop from Etsy
or your local downtown stores.
Usually these places have
those "one of a kind" gifts that
the bigger stores do not. It is
also a great way to benefit
your community.
Happy Shopping! Enjoy.

A Seasonal/Thanksgiving Wreath
Here is a cute wreath to make.
It could be made for Fall,Thanks-
giving or anytime.
This was in the November 2012
Family Fun. They called it a
Wreath of Plenty.
~Start with a 12" styrofoam
wreath form.
~Wrap strips of fall fabric
around the form, securing
the fabric with ball-head
straight pins.
~Cut leaf shapes from card
stock, crease each leaf in
half for dimension. Attach
leaves to wreath with more
ball-head pins.
~To hang, add a loop of fabric
to the back of the wreath.
~Use light-colored gel pens
on dark paper.
The wreath in the magazine
had a "fun theme" to it.
Some of the things written
on the leaves were: family,
chocolate, parades, and ice
cream.
Other theme ideas: Fall,Thanks-
giving and Family. You could
combine all three too.
For Thanksgiving, you could have
the wreath form ready and each
guest could pick a leaf and
write something on it and then
attach it to the wreath. When
complete, you could hang it
up.

Picture Perfect
Saturday was a beautifully
warm Fall day. This is a
tree that is at the top of
our street. Still in it's Fall
finery.
Saturday sunset #1.
Before the rain came in
that night.
Sunset pic #2. Same
evening-higher in the
sky. I find it interesting
that this one came out
more blue.
Sunset pic #3. This one
was taken a little to the
left of the others.
They remind me of water-
color pictures.

More Fab Fun
We continue the birthday
story with the afternoon
and evening activities of
the big day. Ken took the
day off, when I got home
he had a present waiting
for me.
Shake, shake, shake.
Woo hoo, it's the Kindle
Fire HD. a new toy for me!
Later in the evening we
enjoyed a very delicious
meal here. For a starter
we had Spin dip and chips
and for our entrees each of
had salad, steak, baked
potatoes and yummy bread.
Oh yes, I did get flowers.
Mr. Ken sent them to
school. Aren't they pretty?
Sty tuned tomorrow for
more. Thanks for the
sweet birthday wishes
from my previous post.
They mean a lot to me.

Guess Who is 5 0 !
For those that commented
on the last post you were
correct! It was my birthday!
And yes it was a BIG ONE!!
The above pic is my classroom
door the morning of my big
day. Two of my coworkers
are responsible for this sign.
My class had a party for
me. There ARE 50 candles
on the cake and we counted
each and every one!
It's a cake inferno!! I am
waiting for the singing
to finish.
It's time to blow them out!
Someone mentioned that
they had the fire department
on speed dial. Ha! Ha!
Great fun. More birthday fun
next time.
