Hello!
Today I am happy to say that it is my
blogversary!
Country Dreaming is 11 years old
TODAY!
Most of you know the story of Dreaming's
arrival in blogland, for those who don't
here goes. Back in 2009 Mr. Ken was had
been laid of from his job after 20 years with
the company he worked at. Needless to say
BIG SURPRISE to us and not a good one.
Nancy Yoakum--Acorn Cottage suggested
I start blogging, she said I would enjoy it.
After mulling and mulling I decided to
jump in the pond. Mr. Ken helped me
get Dreaming up and running. As it
was July and I was on school break this
was the perfect time to start. Plus it gave
me something to focus on other than the
fact that my spouse was out of work. I
was a bit slow at first but soon catch on.
My little blog is not fancy but it suits me
and I can pick any topic to talk about. :)
During busy times, it was hard to keep
updated, friends have come and gone,
other social media has taken the place
of blogging for some but I am still plug-
ging along. One thing that has come
from this craziness that we are all dealing
with, is that I see more people
than I have for awhile and that is great!
There is a bit more time to blog too.
Happy Anniversary Country Dreaming
we will keep going for as long as we can!
Thanks to all of YOU, my blog friends
who still pop in for a visit, I am always
happy to see you!
Enjoy your weekend and stay safe.

Hello!
What shouts "SUMMER" best
S'MORES does!!
I saw this on the cover of the latest
Country Living.
This S'mores Charcuterie Plate steps
it up a notch. Great for large parties
or family get togethers plus
it gives some "non traditional"
choices to those who are daring. :)
I'll list what I can see :
Marshmallows
Variety of cookies
Graham Crackers
Bananas
Chocolate bars
Peanut butter?
Would you add anything?
I am old school with these grahams,
marshmallows and chocolate .
Marshmallows must be slightly roasted.
Don't like the burned ones.
On the 4th Mr. Ken and I had them
since our fire pit was going.
They were DEEEEElicious.
Happy S'moring.

Howdy!
After the last two days, seeing this on
Facebook was needed. Cleaning water
out of one's family room and holiday
closet was NOT on my TO DO list or
Mr. Ken's since he had to "leave" work
to help. (He is still working from home)
We live in an established neighborhood
with very mature trees that like to share
their roots. Every once in awhile they
cause problems hence our issue. Monday
we dumped tons of water and then had to
dry stuff out. It went in our closet that the
Christmas stuff is in. All of the tubs etc
(that we use plus we have some more but
they were not wet) came out and then the
closet had to be cleaned and dried out.
Since all the tubs were out , I decide to
go through them to get and idea of truly
what we have for Christmas psst: too
much! Ha! Ha! Anyway, things are
rearranged and put back in the closet,
everything is dry, I only broke four
plates and many things our being
donated.
And how's your week going??
Hope you enjoy this Scavenger Hunt,
tell me what you did.

Hello!
As in many cities and towns the 4th will
looks different. Here in Lenexa, Kansas
we normally have an actual parade but
not this year.
The parks and Rec people came up with
the idea of a Porch Parade where residents
could enroll and decorate their porches.
Each entrant was placed on the city map and
everyone is encouraged to drive by the houses
on the route.
Here is our entry. Enjoy!
Wishing you and your family a happy
and safe 4th!
