Playing in the Dirt
On Saturday we spent some
time at our favorite garden
center. They have some of
THE best flowers and veggies
here in the city.
Here is what we picked
up: three tomato plants,
six pepper plants, two
geraniums, 2 sets of
marigolds, one six pack
of a marbled coleus,
potting soil, moss and
some seed packs--corn,
radishes, turnips, grass
and butterfly flowers.
The geraniums are
hanging out in the
wagon on the front
porch.
I had this wire basket
that was picked up at
a garage sale, not sure
of what I wanted to do
with it--I held on to it.
Recently I saw in a
magazine a basket filled
with the moss, my light
buld went on and I made
one of my own! It lives
on the back deck. I
really like how it turned
out!
While I was working
on these, Mr. Ken was
playing in the dirt.
He planted the peppers,
radishes and the corn.
Still need to get the
tomatoes in. We are
going to have a great
garden this year! Pics
soon.

Changes
Well, this IS interesting!
I planned to do a post on
Changes and here Blogger
has finally made the CHANGES
they said would take place.
Warning I am doing this post
on a wing and prayer--so be
patient with me as get use to
this new format.
On to my original thoughts:
the end of a school years always
brings changes. But this year
things a re REALLY changing!
Not only are my kids being
promoted upstairs for next year
but, two of our class staff are
retiring! I have worked with
one of the ladies for the whole
13 years I have been at school
and the other lady I have worked
with for 7 years.
Many of my coworkers have asked
me --- 1."Are you coming back?"
2."What will you do now?"
My response has been "As far as
I know" and "I am taking it day
by day." I am one of you who
do not like change and this year
it is tougher because I don't
know who will be hired to fill
spots by two that I have worked
with so long. I am used to my
kids moving on, that happens
each year and that is good for
them but the kids that are coming
to my room are a bit tougher
to handle due to behaviors and
physical needs. So that leaves
me pondering "Do I stay or
move on also?"
I know the answer will come
soon but until then a lot of
pondering and prayer will
be taking place.
Thanks for listening!
How do you handle change??
Do you like the new format?

Mother Nature's Wonders
The wonders of nature!
THIS is what greeted me when
went out the front door this
morning. I would guess it is
some kind of moth or I it could
be part of the butterfly family--
whatever it is it is BIG! I got as
close as I could without scaring it
and I didn't really want it coming
at me either!
Anybody up on your insect knowledge?
*****************************************
Speaking of WONDERS, Ken and I are
off to a wedding this evening for a very
special couple! My good friend Ann has
reconnected with her high school crush.
After many years apart and many family
obligations between them they have
gotten together and will become husband and wife in front of family, friends and most importanly GOD!
We are so HAPPY for Ann and Fred--Blessings and prayers for the both of them!
Have a great day!!!

Easter Finery
It is a beautiful cool day here
and I was outside trying to post
this but, it got a little chilly.
Anyway, I thought I would post
about our Easter.
I went for the Bunny and Eggs
theme this year. The holiday
came sooooo fast that I went
for quick and easy. I'll give you
a little tour. These were taken
in our living room.
You will see this (above) in a later
picture.
This basket (above) was on the
serving table. Another easy
thing I did was serve lunch
buffet style. (Forgot to take pic)
Oops!
The bunny left his basket on
our front porch!
Above and below: The weather
here on Easter was glorious!
We were able to eat outside on
the deck!
I used an Easter tablecloth that I
have had for years, white cloth
napkins and our white dishes.
The flower napkins rings were
picked up recently at a garage sale
and I thought they went perfectly
with the colors on the cloth.
See I told you would see the cheese
board later. It was our outdoor
centerpiece.
The picture below is a close-up, it
didn't come out exacily as I would
have liked but....

Did You Know????
Did you know:
**Americans spend more than
2 billion on Easter candy
annually?
**90 million chocolate bunnies
are produced each year? 76%
of the consumers eat the ears
first!
**Marshmellow Peeps are the
most popular non chocolate
treat? I prefer jelly beans
myself. What is your favorite
Easter candy?
Ken and I would like to wish
EVERYBUNNY a spectacular
Easter! Have fun and enjoy
your day. We will have a
delightful time with the family.

posts, please scroll down. :)

It is.........
I stopped in today to let
you know what my picture
was in my last post. Four out
of eleven commenters were correct!
Great job ladies!!!
It IS a POTATO CHIP! I found
it in a small bag of Lay's chips
during lunch one day. I was
sooooo fascinated by it, that
I could not bring myself to eat
it! It amazes me how things form
into other shapes.
Currently it lives on my cookbook
shelf--what to do with it???
Well, now I am off to start the
holiday making process.
