Kansas Citians LOVE their
BBQ! We have over 100
restaurants serving all
kinds of yummy stuff.
In the early 1900's a
man by the name of
Henry Peery opened a
BBQ restaurant out of a
trolley barn. He sold a slab
of ribs wrapped in newspaper
for . 25 each!!! Those were the
days.
Of the 100 or so BBQ joints in
town, each serves a variety of
flavors and styles but most use
the slow-smoked method of
cooking. Our sauces are tomato
based ranging from sweet to spicy
to tangy.
Kansas City plays host to The
American Royal BBQ contest
each year. Thousands come to
our fair city each year to compete
and taste THE BEST BBQ ! My fair
city hosts The Great Lenexa BBQ
contest each June, last weekend as
a matter of fact. It stinks up the
town pretty good!!!
Okay, now I have made myself
hungry!

I'm loving these post and have already learned new things about our own fair city! Thanks for dropping by...the cookies were delicious (I sampled one!), but then anything that involves cake mix is good, right?!!!
