Hello!
What shouts "SUMMER" best
S'MORES does!!
I saw this on the cover of the latest
Country Living.
This S'mores Charcuterie Plate steps
it up a notch. Great for large parties
or family get togethers plus
it gives some "non traditional"
choices to those who are daring. :)
I'll list what I can see :
Marshmallows
Variety of cookies
Graham Crackers
Bananas
Chocolate bars
Peanut butter?
Would you add anything?
I am old school with these grahams,
marshmallows and chocolate .
Marshmallows must be slightly roasted.
Don't like the burned ones.
On the 4th Mr. Ken and I had them
since our fire pit was going.
They were DEEEEElicious.
Happy S'moring.

Hello!!!
Well, it has officially arrived--Summer
is here! Although for the last couple
of weeks here in Eastern Kansas
it has felt like Summer already!
We have a busy week ahead,
see you on Wednesday!!

Hello Everyone~
Since Fall is on our backdoor, I
thought I would do a recap of our
Summer.
We did enjoy our fun adventures
for sure! First up was our trip to
Oklahoma for fun with the family.
This was from the trip to the Cowboy
Museum.
Next we were off to Illinois.
Our friend's son graduated from
high school and is attending the
University of Minnesota studying
Engineering.
Christopher's Aunt made these. It is
a Periodic Table. Nifty idea don't you
think?
In July, Mr. Ken took some time off
for vacation and we took some day
trips... We enjoyed our visit to
the library.
Another day we went to a local brewery.
Picked up our tour tickets and off we
went.
Some "young" man had a birthday!!!
Which was celebrated many times over.
Took another road trip, to see a friend
and celebrated the big day again.
This lovely A-frame home was designed
by our friend and she lives here, so we
were very excited to see it and her too.
This trip took us to southwest Missouri,
almost to the Arkansas border.
I completed my 50 book challenge!!!!!
One more road trip! We found ourselves
in Brookfield, Missouri. They have a Hot
Air Balloon Fest every year.
We went with my brother-in-law and his
girlfriend but...
Unbeknownst to us and Julie he planned
to ask her a very important question! Can
you guess what it was????
To say she was surprised was ans under-
statement! Thankfully, Gregg clued us in
before. I was glad I had the camera with
me!!!
It fit!!
She said YES!!!!
The balloons were cool too!
Congratulations to my brother-in-law
and soon to be sister-in-law!!!!
Can't wait to have Julie as an official
member of the family.
Summer went fast and Fall promises to
be full of more fun and ANOTHER road
trip!
Come back often, I am going to try to
post more. So much going on, that it
gets hard to post. But I will try harder.

We were out driving a
couple of evenings
ago.
As we were going along
I spied this!
A hot air balloon!
It was playing peek a boo with us
at times.
As we rounded a corner,
there it was! I had Ken
stop the car and I got out
to get this shot. You could
hear them firing the balloon
to get it higher. It was a
beautiful summer evening
and this was an added
surprise!

It is National Iced Tea Day!!!!
Lipton or Luzianne
Loose or tea bag (s)
Hot or Cold
Which do you prefer?
I LOVE this day. Most of you
know that I am a tea girl-cold
with LOTS of ice!!
We buy the Lipton Cold Brew
in bags and I have a cold pitcher
of tea in minutes! Instant satisi-
faction. Good old fashioned "sun
tea" is great too. Mr. Ken was
asking about that the other day-
I said I would make some when
we have a hot day with lots of sun
of course. He said he was on board
with that!
This would be a delicious beverage
for those of you who are in the part
of the country that are having high
summer temps today.
Grab a glass, sit back and relax!!!
Enjoy!!!!!
Better take my tea with me and get
back to garage sale prep. :)

Hello all!
Popping in with a favorite from
my childhood.
How do you beat the HEAT?
Well, make Kool-Aid cubes.
Pour kool-aid into an ice tray,
let freeze and VOILA' you
have a yummy cool treat.
Enjoy! Back later.
Today's trivia continues
yesterday's "picnic"
theme.
Picnics are social events
involving food, families,
friends and fun. They
take place at parks, beaches,
festivals, backyards, tailgates
and many other places.
The word "picnic" was first
introduced in English in 1748.
The 19th century brought the
"Picnic Society" a wealthy
group of Londoners promoting
socal affairs. Each attendee
was expected to bring a dish.
The middle of the century
was when picnics were
associated with the outside.
Picnics can range from
casual, cozy or grand
affairs. The food can be
served on paper plates
or china. Whatever is
chosen the main ingred-
ient to a picnic is FUN!
Have a picnic today and
have FUN!
