A Question???????????

Today's question-----
Why do we wait till the last
minute, when guests are
coming or a holiday is around
the corner to do "projects?"
I'm sure it's part of being
human but why do we stress
ourselves like this? I ask
you this my friends.

  1. Why DO we wait until the last minute? I waited until the DAY of the Halloween party to get the house straightened and the treats made though at least the decorating was done. Whew!

Stress! We do it to ourselves!

    Welcome BACK!

  2. I work better under pressure. At least that's what I keep telling myself.

  3. So I shouldn't paint my living room before Thanksgiving? Seriously, sometimes I have to have a deadline that doesn't move in order to get something done. If not I just keep putting it off.

  4. Sorry...I'm a twisted planner, a sicko, a perfectionist. Oh don't hate me because I'm beautiful..(organized). Heeehehehe!!!

Are ya old enough to remember those old commercials??? I apologize my geezer factor is showin'!

Ya'll have a beautifully blessed weekend sweetie!!!

  5. I do think some of us work better under pressure, but I also think that organization is a good thing! :)

I have been working on the latter. Not b/c I don't do well under pressure, I'm a teacher so of course I do!, BUT, I'm beginning to realize/believe/think that my family and I deserve to live a beautiful life on a daily basis...not just my guests!

Hope you're feeling better and all is going well. I bet you're looking forward to your Thanksgiving break!

    Take care,
    Val

  6. We started working on pre-guest fix-it projects way back in October but it sort of snowballed and one thing led to another, and we are still working to get things completed this weekend. Furniture moved, son's bedroom redone, cleaning out the pigsty (I mean office/sewing room), two spots on the family room ceiling patched (from where we had a leak in the shower on the second floor), 4 light fixtures replaced, broken staircase spindles replaced, new shelves added to one of the hall closets, etc..... This is why I have barely been on the blogs these past couple of weeks. We have someone here today helping us to get things finished. Son arrives home sometime today, and our daughter and her boyfriend arrive in a couple of days.
(Yes, It's serious enough that she is bringing him home , and serious enough that he is coming to meet her family instead of spending this holiday with his own family. I wonder ... are we meeting our future son in law?)
Hope you and Mr. Ken have a wonderful Thanksgiving!!!!!

  7. Can't say why, but I am guilty. I usually think of a project when the house is neatened up for company and I think that something would look better somewhere else. Never fails!
