Good Wednesday morning to everyone! I have been soo busy with projects these past several days and it has been so great them finished! First up is the spoons above. A gal I work with does wood burning, I took the two that I bought from her and glued them to a board I painted red and then added a bit of brown on top to tone down the red some. Glued the ribbon around the edges, made a bow and I was finished. I have it hanging in my kitchen, of course.
Next up is my beautiful new kitchen island!! I spent several day scouring Facebook Marketplace for a piece I liked. Found this one and I love it. I went from one half the size of this one with only one shelf to this with four shelves. Woo! Hoo!
I had this vinyl piece from alooooong time ago and adhered it to the top of the island. I little whimsy is always good.
The next two items (above and below) go together and when I am finished, I will give you a peek at them.
Another project in progress. These used to be on our wall in the living room but no more. When I finish them I will show you what I did with them. I forgot to take a pic of what I replaced them with. Another day.
And... last but not least. Fourth of July décor. These are in the entryway.
Tray on the trunk in the living room.
These cuties are hanging from the light fixture in our dining room.
Placemats that I made several years ago. Take care, hope you are enjoying the summer weather! See you Monday! ~Keep on Dreaming~
Hello! Today we are focusing on the fast approaching holiday. Fourth of July! Are you ready? Do you decorate for the holiday? Got my decorations up today. I have two fun recipes for your holiday fun. First up: Firecracker Popcorn 1 bag of microwave popcorn (unbuttered) 8 oz of white chocolate bark 4 pkgs red Pop Rocks Blue Sprinkles 1. Pop popcorn according to pkg directions. 2. Line a baking sheet with wax paper. 3. Spread popcorn on the baking sheet. 4. Melt the bark then drizzle over the popcorn, mix up the popcorn to coat. 5. Sprinkle Pop Rocks and sprinkles over the popcorn. Let set and then serve.
Cowboy Caviar There are so many variables to this recipe that I am not going to put the recipe on the ol' blog. It is made with beans, corn, peppers, tomatoes and sugar. If this is recipe interests you, check with Google and read through the recipes that pop up. Both of these would make great yummies for your holiday BBQ's. See you Wednesday! ~Keep on Dreaming~
Well, I finally was able to get my pictures loaded AGAIN. It is either me or the internet. Who knows? So anyway, as you can see from the above pic that we continue to have some awesome sunsets. I love how the rays are coming out of the clouds.
Here you have the final result of the clean-up and purge of cookbooks. The before pic would have been so bad and I did not take one but trust me this is soooo much better. The binder on the right (top shelf) contains all my "loose" recipes which I will organize soon. So happy with how it came out.
Spent some time at a local lake after Mr. Ken took care of an internet issue at the park Admin building. Being "on call" is no fun for him. It was such a beautiful day.
So nice!
Playing with settings on my phone. I like this one a lot.
Our neighbor gave this fountain to us. Mr. Ken was not thrilled. : ) and I wasn't sure what to do with it either (did not want to mess with it as a fountain) So after some mulling I came up with ...
THIS!! I planted Petunias and Vinca vines on the two top levels and put water in the bottom as a birdbath. I am so happy with how it came out. My neighbor loves it! Ha! Ha! ~~~~~ I hit a book sale recently but didn't get much, a bit disappointed--oh well. I have been hooked on Facebook Market- place, purchased two items too. One is going to be a worktable in my sewing room. It is a vintage sewing machine stand with a concrete top and the other is a TV stand that we are turning into an kitchen island. Pics soon. Other projects are coming together too. Mr. Ken had a couple of vacay days early this week and he is off again tomorrow, who knows what kind of trouble we will get into, Happy Summer!! ~Keep on Dreaming~
Well, I made it back. Apparently it is my laptop with the issue. Mr. Ken found me a work around though for now. This is not all I wanted to post about but I'll get to the other things next week. Anyway, last Saturday Mr. Ken and I went on a garden tour in a neighboring city. There were six houses on the tour and we had a blast! I have posted the pics starting with each house except one- the big Hosta should have come after the house (fourth set of pics.) Enjoy!!
Hi--we did really see all of that beauty! Hope you enjoyed. Pop back on Monday! ~Keep on Dreaming~
Good morning! Blogger and I are NOT getting along right now, so instead of getting frustrated I will come back later with my post. The picture above gives you a sneak peak. See you soon! P. S. If you missed Monday's post scroll back and check it out. ~Keep on Dreaming~
Today on Misc. Monday: What else can you do with Keys?? 1. Make curtain weights-- Sew or tape keys into the bottom hem of lightweight curtains that hand near a vent or busy door. 2. Use as a shim-- Steady a wobbly table or night- stand by sliding a key under the short leg. 3. Donate them-- The nonprofit organization Key for Hope (keyforhope.org) uses the proceeds from the sale of scrap metal to help support a food pantry of your choice. 4. Open bottles-- Hold the neck of the soda or beer bottle firmly with one hand. Use the ridged side of a key to gently pry up the edges of the cap until it pops off. 5. Clean shoe/boots treads-- Use a key to clean out hard to reach spaces on your shoes or boots. Did you know? Harry Houdini was a lock- smith before becoming a magician. ~Keep on Dreaming~
Good Morning! Well, I am a day late, Summer break has thrown me off a bit in a good way. So let's get on with the catching up! We have had more strange weather . One evening last week we had a rain storm out of the blue. Just started raining and raining THEN the sun came out!
and we had a RAINBOW in the midst of this storm. We were able to see both sides!
It was so fun to see each side of the rainbow! As Mr. Ken is driving , I am giving directions on where to go, It felt like we were "Rainbow Chasers."
As you know we went Strawberry pickin'. My thought was to make jam but we had a family day coming up so I made Drizzle for the Ice Cream Bar. I was so proud that it came out yummy the first time!
We had a bit left over so I had it on toast. Oh my!!
Family Day at my sister-in-law's.
Bubble time!!
Look close in the cloud and you will see the bubble.
Toppings for the ice cream. I cut up different candy bars.
Plus Chocolate Syrup and Strawberry Drizzle.
Summer reading is in full force, not on the grass though but still going. What are you reading??
Our neighborhood is having their annual summer sale so I toodled off to some yesterday.
Picked these babies up for $1 a piece! Will be adding them to my Gooseberry Cookbook collection.
I also got this. As you can see it is for cards. I am probably one of the last people to send cards but I think they brighten a person's day, especially when they don't expect it. I didn't pay $6.95 for it either.
It came with 12 folders and three free cards. I have a shorter one but it fills up fast when I buy cards ahead of time so this one will be a bit better. Picked up some some stuff for school and got a couple for things for Mr. Ken too.
Here is a sneak peak of our deck. We had dinner out there two nights ago. It was a great night for grillin' and dinin'. That is it for now...come by on Monday to see my Misc. Monday post. ~Keep on Dreaming~
