A Look Back




As you can see, this week we are 
"throwing it back to the 60's.
Both Mr. Ken and I are 
children of the 60's.

When you think of the 60's 
what comes to mind?
Fashion, politics, war, music?

I was a small child for most of the 
decade so not much come to
mind, I went to Kindergarten
in the late 60's, I do remember
the Beatles and Ed Sullivan.

  1. My entire childhood was the 60s, I was born in '58. I don't remember much about styles and music, but Mary Poppins was the first movie I ever saw in the theatre. It was magical! For my birthday that year, my mom made a Mary Poppins hat cake, with the cherries on one side:) Barbies were a big thing, I had only one, but loved making my own clothes for her. Competing for the Presidential Fitness Award (started by JFK) every year in PE, living on Koolade and PB&J sandwiches for school lunch and running barefoot all summer. So many good memories. It was a tumultuous time for the country, I'm glad I was young and oblivious to much of it, just enjoying the simpler times.

      going on at that time. Busy being a kid.
      You have some great memories! We put Koolade
      in ice cube trays an froze it. Oh yum!
