One week from today, after a loooooong 50 years our Kansas City Chiefsare headed to the SUPER BOWL! We are so excited!!! I was seven the last time they went to the Super Bowl.

It's a new year! No I am not starting the year over, though it might be a good idea since my January did not get off to the best start. : )
Anyway, today is Chinese New Year and it is the year of the Rat. It is also referred to as the Lunar New Year. This is a festival that celebrates the beginning of a new year on the Lunar calendar. Mainland China refers to it as the Spring Festival. It is one of several Lunar New Year's in Asia.
Chinese New Year is celebrated this year from January 25th to February 4th.
If you were born in 1924, 1936, 1948, 1960, 1972, 1984, 1996, 2008 and 2020 you were or will be born in the Year of the Rat. They are seen as a lucky sign.
"Gong hei fat choy!" "Happy New Year!" Wishing you great happiness and prosperity.

I am back at school minus these last two days with a sinus infection. Yuck!
Moving on...Truth time.
My word for this year is RECLAIM.
I am looking to reclaim Melinda I am looking to reclaim parts of our house. :) I am looking to reclaim my world as it used to be two years ago.
Things occurred back then that I allowed to happen (at work) and I then allowed it these occurrences to turn me into someone I didn't know. Someone who didn't enjoy her world around her. So,this year I AM going to find me and get things in order that have been on the backburner too long.
Some may ask "Why did you allow this to occur?" Good question. I think I felt it was better to not say anything--it was safer.
I don't make resolutions cause I don't keep them very well but I did like what this said especially the laugh more, live more and love more. Here's to an AWESOME year!
